Forgiveness is always personal. You don’t forgive an institution, you don’t forgive an organisation. You can’t forgive a church. You forgive people who, from your perspective, wronged you or hurt you. This is why you’ll meet people who will say things likes “I am just so angry with the Church.” You can’t be angry with the Church. “Oh that Church just let me down” A Church does not let you down, people in that Church let you down. And one of the reasons of why sometimes people are sort of paralyzed when it comes to forgiveness is that they are angry with an institution, a group, a business that laid them off and you can’t forgive a faceless mass of an organisation. You have to forgive the people with in that group or organisation or Church that made specific decisions that affected you in adverse sorts of ways.
