Tumblr Challenge: Day 01 — Your favorite song
I have thought about this a lot. I don’t think I have one singular favourite song. I have a lot of songs I really, really like. Such as “Cute without the E” by Taking Back Sunday, “Letters to You” by Finch and “Come Down” by Brie Stoner.
So to help me decided what to put for this day, I used my Last.Fm account, which I have scrobbling to for a couple of years now. On it has a wealth of information about my listening habits and most listened to bands. According to this information, “The Cave” by Mumford & Sons is my most listened to song with 76 plays.
I gave some thought to what I like so much about this song. I have always been a lyrics man myself, which is probably to do with with the fact I am tone deaf and know very little about music. The lyrics in this song are so full of hope. Marcus seems to be describing a time during or just after some difficulties. Some have linked the song to Platos “Allegory of the Cave”, which to be honest is a bit beyond but may be worth a read.
Either way this song is uplifting and full of hope. This is why I like it.

It’s my birthday in 3 days and in only a couple days we have raised $150 (£100). This money will directly go to help bring clean water to people who don’t have it. Thank you for this.
My goal is $1000 (£660) by the end of the campaign and we are already 15% of the way there. Please donate $23 or however much you can over at www.mycharitywater.org/steves23birthday
Thank you. This will be the best birthday ever if we can reach the target.
